Chinese autonomous driving firm QCraft plans to expand into Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. This move supports safe and sustainable mobility while also aligning with Saudi Arabia’s transport innovation goals.
The announcement followed QCraft’s participation at the Commotion Global Summit 2025 in Riyadh from December 7 to 9. During the summit, the company highlighted its strategy to introduce autonomous technologies and simultaneously support clean-energy logistics.
Yu, a senior QCraft executive, stated that the company will invest in Saudi Arabia after completing thorough market assessments. Furthermore, the firm will launch pilot projects and form partnerships to implement solutions effectively.
QCraft has deployed around 1 million Level 2 autonomous products globally. In addition, it has sold Level 4 systems in cities including Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The company also introduced RoboBus buses and RoboVan delivery trucks to the Middle East. Consequently, these initiatives aim to improve efficiency in both public transport and logistics services.
QCraft’s move into Saudi Arabia comes amid growing interest in autonomous vehicle technology across the GCC. Moreover, several countries in the region are piloting smart transport initiatives to reduce congestion and enhance logistics efficiency.
Additionally, the company plans to integrate its autonomous solutions with clean-energy vehicles. This strategy aligns with regional sustainability goals and aims to reduce carbon emissions from transport operations.
Local authorities in Saudi Arabia have expressed support for QCraft’s entry. By collaborating with regulators, the technology will comply with safety standards and contribute to the Kingdom’s long-term transport modernization plans.
Saudi Arabia began the first autonomous vehicle phase in July 2025. The program tests AI-driven vehicles at King Khalid International Airport, key highways, and selected central Riyadh locations.
The initiative is part of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. Consequently, it seeks to adopt sustainable mobility solutions while simultaneously improving safety and efficiency.
QCraft also aims to establish partnerships with local companies to accelerate adoption. Furthermore, the firm plans to expand into other GCC countries after securing its presence in Saudi Arabia.
Analysts say QCraft’s expansion can strengthen investment flows and attract international collaborations. In addition, the initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s vision for smart logistics and advanced transport solutions.
