China-Kuwait relations strengthen as Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Kuwaiti Ambassador Jasem Ibrahem Al-Najem in Beijing on December 5, 2025. The meeting highlighted progress in bilateral cooperation and future strategic initiatives.
Miao noted that, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, relations between China and Kuwait have achieved significant developments in recent years. He added that next year will mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations. China aims to use this milestone to further elevate the strategic partnership.
In addition, China will host the second China-Arab States Summit next year. Miao expressed readiness to work with Kuwait to inject new momentum into China-Arab cooperation through the summit. He also emphasized China’s recent pledge of 100 million U.S. dollars in assistance to Palestine as a demonstration of responsibility and commitment to regional stability.
Ambassador Al-Najem highlighted Kuwait’s appreciation for its friendship with China. He emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to implementing the agreements reached by the two heads of state. Furthermore, he noted Kuwait’s intent to accelerate bilateral cooperation projects and expand opportunities in economic, cultural, and strategic areas.
Al-Najem also expressed support for China in hosting the second China-Arab States Summit. He stressed Kuwait’s willingness to strengthen communication and coordination to ensure the summit’s success. The ambassador praised China’s position on the Palestinian question and welcomed the new financial support provided to Palestine.
Both sides discussed enhancing collaboration to uphold multilateralism, international fairness, and justice. They agreed to expand dialogue on trade, investment, energy, and regional stability, demonstrating the strategic depth of China Kuwait relations.
Experts note that this meeting underscores the growing importance of China Kuwait relations in the broader context of China-Arab partnerships. Analysts expect increased bilateral investments, trade projects, and strategic initiatives following the upcoming anniversary and summit.
