China pledged to be Saudi Arabia’s most trustworthy partner in national development during a high-level meeting on December 15, 2025. The China-Saudi partnership will strengthen bilateral collaboration in energy, emerging industries, and regional stability.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. Wang emphasized that China is ready to support Saudi Arabia’s national revitalization process. He highlighted mutual benefits and all-round cooperation across traditional and future industries.
The Crown Prince conveyed greetings from King Salman and expressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening the China Saudi partnership. He reaffirmed Saudi support for China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and opposition to external interference in China’s internal affairs.
Saudi leaders also confirmed their readiness to expand collaboration in oil, gas, new energy, artificial intelligence, and high-tech sectors. They welcomed China’s hosting of the second China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC Summit in 2026. The Crown Prince further encouraged the early conclusion of the China-GCC free trade agreement.
Wang Yi sent cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed the strong personal ties between Chinese and Saudi leaders. He invited the Crown Prince to visit China next year for the China-Arab States Summit. Wang noted that China remains committed to close coordination with Saudi Arabia in regional and international affairs.
Experts note that the China Saudi partnership is strategic for both sides. Saudi Arabia benefits from China’s advanced technology and industrial capabilities, while China gains access to the region’s energy resources and strengthened political influence. Analysts suggest the partnership could accelerate development in renewable energy and high-tech industries in the kingdom.
Furthermore, both countries agreed to maintain regular communication to promote regional peace and stability. The partnership also signals stronger collaboration on multilateral platforms, enhancing China’s engagement with the Middle East.
Looking ahead, the China Saudi partnership is expected to expand in economic, technological, and diplomatic dimensions. Joint initiatives in energy transition, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure development will likely define the next phase of bilateral relations.
The meeting reflects a growing trend of China leveraging strategic partnerships to support national development goals abroad. Saudi Arabia, in turn, positions itself as a hub for regional trade and innovation through collaboration with China.
