Bahrain is taking a prominent role at the 56th World Economic Forum, held from January 19-23, 2026. The event’s theme, “A Spirit of Dialogue,” draws global leaders to discuss economic, technological, and geopolitical challenges. Consequently, Bahrain Global Forum participation highlights the country’s commitment to international collaboration and growth.
On behalf of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa leads Bahrain’s high-level delegation. Moreover, the group includes Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Al Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development; and Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce.
During the Forum, Shaikh Isa visited the UAE Pavilion. There, he met Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. They discussed expanding economic cooperation, sustainable development, governance innovation, and knowledge exchange. These talks, therefore, further strengthen Bahrain-UAE strategic ties.
WEF 2026 convenes amid global geopolitical tension, economic shifts, and rapid technological change. Accordingly, leaders discuss artificial intelligence, trade policies, climate resilience, and international collaboration. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron warned of a drift away from shared rules, stressing global instability.
Other sessions explored responsible AI innovation to balance economic growth with social impact. In addition, political tensions and trade disputes emerged, demonstrating WEF’s role as both a platform for dialogue and debate.
With more than 200 sessions livestreamed, WEF 2026 covers sustainability, economic growth, and technology challenges.
