Bahrain Tender Board Boosts Supplier Engagement with Over 575,000 Notifications

Bahrain’s Tender Board sent over 575,000 electronic notifications to suppliers and contractors in 2025. Electronic notifications have become a key tool for improving transparency and efficiency. These notifications aim to boost participation and strengthen competitiveness in public sector procurement.

The Board explained that 524,074 notifications were sent to highlight newly launched tenders. This approach allowed suppliers and contractors to stay informed and respond quickly. Additionally, 44,768 notifications acted as reminders to submit bids within deadlines. These reminders improved compliance and supported smooth workflow management.

Furthermore, 4,689 notifications followed bid openings to maintain procedural transparency. Another 2,438 messages were sent after bid evaluations. This ensured suppliers clearly understood the results and trusted the process integrity.

Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of the Tender Board, said electronic notifications reinforce the commitment of procurement entities. They ensure evaluations finish on time and recommendations reach approval stages promptly. He noted that the notifications enhance operations from tender announcements to award.

Al Alawi added that electronic notifications form a core part of modernizing the government tendering system. They increase compliance, accelerate work cycles, and provide accurate performance indicators. Moreover, these tools allow closer monitoring and help prevent delays. He also highlighted that this aligns with Bahrain’s digital government initiatives and transparency principles.

Looking forward, the Tender Board plans to continue improving its electronic systems. The Board aims to align procedures with international best practices. These efforts will enhance service quality and promote operational excellence in government procurement and auction processes.

The Board also urged suppliers and contractors to update their commercial activities in the electronic system. Doing so ensures timely receipt of notifications for relevant tenders. This step strengthens governance and improves management of public procurement.

Overall, electronic notifications demonstrate Bahrain’s commitment to efficiency, transparency, and competition. By leveraging digital tools, the Tender Board enhances communication, boosts compliance, and encourages broader participation in government projects.
