Al Salam Bank has introduced a new ATM-based service that allows customers to withdraw “Ayadi” cash directly from machines across its branches in Bahrain. The move aims to simplify access to festive cash withdrawals while ensuring safer and faster banking services during the Eid season.
The Ayadi cash withdrawal Bahrain service became available through ATMs located at all Al Salam Bank branches starting Tuesday. The bank said the service will operate while stocks of new banknotes remain available.
Ayadi refers to the traditional practice of giving money gifts during Eid celebrations. Families often distribute fresh banknotes to children and relatives during the holiday period. As demand for new currency rises during this time, banks typically introduce special services to support customers.
Al Salam Bank explained that the service will be provided exclusively through ATMs during the specified period. The bank therefore temporarily suspended Ayadi withdrawals through tellers at branch counters. This step aims to reduce congestion inside branches and offer customers a safer and more convenient experience.
Customers holding Al Salam Bank cards can withdraw newly issued banknotes in several denominations free of charge. The ATM service allows users to complete the process quickly without waiting in queues.
According to the bank, the initiative supports Bahraini families preparing for Eid celebrations. The system also ensures that customers can access festive cash easily while maintaining efficient banking operations.
The introduction of the service reflects the bank’s broader strategy to strengthen its self-service banking infrastructure. Digital and automated solutions have become increasingly important for financial institutions seeking to improve customer convenience.
By expanding ATM services, the bank aims to provide faster access to seasonal financial needs. Self-service channels also allow banks to manage higher transaction volumes during busy holiday periods.
Mohammed Buhijji, Chief Retail Banking Officer at Al Salam Bank, said the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to practical customer-focused solutions.
“At Al Salam Bank, we are keen to introduce qualitative initiatives that enhance our clients’ convenience and align with their daily requirements, especially during important religious and social occasions,” Buhijji said.
He added that the dedicated Ayadi ATM service simplifies financial preparations for the Eid season and improves the overall banking experience for clients.
The bank also noted that the decision followed customer feedback requesting easier access to Ayadi withdrawals in convenient locations. As a result, ATMs across its branch network now serve as the main channel for this service during the festive period.
The Ayadi cash withdrawal Bahrain initiative highlights how financial institutions are adapting traditional banking services to modern customer expectations. Automated banking solutions continue to play a larger role in meeting seasonal and everyday financial needs across the region.
