IDC Completes First Well in Sonangol Contract in Qayyarah Oilfield

The Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) has successfully completed its first well under a significant contract with Sonangol, a key player in the oil industry. This well, named LF2, is located in the Qayyarah oilfield in Nineveh province, Iraq. The IDC used its advanced IDC 223 rig for the operation, which has an impressive horsepower capacity of 800.

This achievement is a demonstration of IDC’s technical expertise and commitment to high-quality, safe drilling operations. The completion of this well marks an important step in fulfilling the contract to drill a total of 13 oil wells in the Qayyarah oilfield.

IDC’s efforts are in line with the Ministry of Oil’s goal to improve Iraq’s oil production capacity. The company has shown its dedication to executing drilling projects on schedule, which will ultimately help increase national oil production. This accomplishment highlights IDC’s ability to support Iraq’s broader energy development plans.

The successful completion of LF2 is expected to be just the beginning as IDC continues to work toward meeting its goals in collaboration with Sonangol, contributing to Iraq’s growing oil sector.
