Azizi Starts Work on Dubai and Sharjah Workforce Housing for More Than 31,000 Workers

Azizi Developments has started work on workforce housing communities in Dubai and Sharjah that will accommodate more than 31,000 workers when complete, the Dubai-based developer said on Saturday.

The largest project is a master community for more than 20,000 residents in Al Sajaa, Sharjah, with 36 residential buildings, five medical clinics, a pharmacy and a supermarket, according to a company statement carried by TradeArabia.

The Sharjah site will include an 18,945-square-foot training and community center for more than 400 people. It will also have bays for 155 buses.

The community sits next to more than 1 million square feet of Azizi’s own production facilities in Al Sajaa. These include factories for aluminum, joinery, modular ductwork, marble, bathroom pods and glass-reinforced concrete, with precast concrete plants to follow.

In Dubai, Azizi is building accommodation centers in the Jebel Ali Industrial 1 zone. They cover more than 137,000 square meters and will house more than 9,700 workers combined.

Enabling and shoring works are already underway in Jebel Ali. Site preparation at Al Sajaa will begin later this month, with phased delivery running through late 2027.

“The frontline teams and skilled workforce on our construction sites are the foundation of everything we build,” said Farhad Azizi, group chief executive officer of Azizi Developments.

The developer did not disclose the cost of the projects.
