FII Institute Confirms Riyadh Investment Conference Postponed to 2027

The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute has postponed the 10th edition of its flagship investment conference in Riyadh to 2027, its chief executive said on Monday.

Princess Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, chief executive officer of the FII Institute, said the conference, themed “The Power of Legacy,” had been scheduled for October 26 to 29, 2026, Al Arabiya reported.

New dates will be announced “very soon,” and all existing registrations and partnerships remain valid, she said in a statement.

“Because this is our landmark tenth edition, we want to ensure it delivers the full scale, extraordinary quality, and unforgettable impact that our community has come to expect and truly deserves,” she said.

The statement did not refer to the security situation in the region.

The postponement follows an escalation of missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement. An October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300, CNBC reported.

The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and Bloomberg News reported earlier on Monday that Saudi Arabia had decided against holding the event in person.

Speakers listed for the conference included JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon, Blackstone’s Stephen Schwarzman, BlackRock’s Larry Fink and Citigroup’s Jane Fraser, according to CNBC.

The Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, is the main backer of the conference, which was first held in 2017. The FII Institute says the platform has facilitated and highlighted investments and initiatives worth more than $250 billion.
