Spanish infrastructure group Acciona has secured two operation and maintenance contracts in Lusail, Qatar, the company said on Tuesday.
One is a new contract to operate and maintain the city’s underground utility tunnel network. The other renews Acciona’s existing contract for Lusail’s road infrastructure.

The company did not disclose the value or length of either contract.
Under the renewed Lusail Road MEP contract, Acciona will continue to run and maintain road tunnels, underpasses, bridges and their mechanical, electrical, control and other critical systems.
The new Lusail Utility Tunnel contract covers a major underground network that carries essential utilities across the city, along with its associated facilities and systems.
Both contracts run around the clock, with dedicated shift teams monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure, Acciona said in a statement.
Lusail, north of Doha, is one of Qatar’s leading smart cities, according to Acciona.
Acciona’s other work in Qatar includes the construction, operation and maintenance of the Ras Abu Fontas A3 and Umm Al Houl desalination plants. Its desalination projects in the country have a combined capacity of about 1.8 million cubic meters a day, the company said.
Its Acciona Cultura unit delivered the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum and the National Museum of Qatar.
Acciona reported sales of 20.24 billion euros in 2025 and operates in more than 40 countries.
