Abu Dhabi Chamber Signs Pacts With Enterprise Greece and Athens Chamber, Opening a Network of 140,000 Greek Companies

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed two agreements with Greek business bodies that open a network of more than 140,000 registered companies to Abu Dhabi firms.

The chamber signed a memorandum of understanding with Enterprise Greece, the Greek state’s investment and trade promotion agency, and a cooperation agreement with the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it said in a statement reported on Monday by Al Bayan and Gulf Today. The Athens chamber has more than 140,000 registered member companies.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the UAE-Greece Business Forum in Athens. Ali bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, first vice chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, signed both.

Dimitris Skalkos, chairman of Enterprise Greece, signed the memorandum. Ioannis Bratakos, president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed the cooperation agreement.

Under the memorandum, the two sides will share information on trade and investment opportunities, priority sectors and business setup requirements in Abu Dhabi and Greece. They will also support business meetings and trade delegations and encourage cooperation on supply chains.

Enterprise Greece operates under Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is responsible for attracting foreign direct investment and promoting Greek exports.

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Greece reached about $606 million in 2025, the chamber said. The two countries announced a €4 billion investment cooperation framework in 2022.

Emirati deals in Greece include Masdar’s acquisition of TERNA ENERGY, which valued the company at about €3.2 billion, and PureHealth’s €800 million purchase of a 60% stake in Hellenic Healthcare Group.

“The true value of our international partnerships is not measured by the number of agreements we sign, but by the opportunities they create for businesses and their ability to make new markets and partners more accessible,” Al Dhaheri said.

He said the chamber aims to extend those opportunities to more companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises looking to expand into European markets.
