Abu Dhabi healthcare group PureHealth has partnered with French energy management company Schneider Electric to cut energy use and track emissions across its hospitals and other facilities, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Schneider Electric will give PureHealth access to its EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform and set up a framework to explore sustainable infrastructure strategies across the group’s facilities.

The platform will help PureHealth manage its Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions and consolidate sustainability data across its portfolio. PureHealth has a science-based target of net zero by 2040.
The work covers three areas: energy efficiency, digital tools including IoT-enabled monitoring, predictive maintenance and ESG data management, and sustainability advice on building design, green building certification and circular economy practices.
PureHealth’s operations span hospitals, clinics, laboratories, health technology, insurance, pharmacies and procurement services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“By embedding sustainability into how healthcare environments are designed and operated, we can strengthen long-term performance while continuing to deliver better health outcomes,” said Shaista Asif, group chief executive of PureHealth.
Olivier Blum, chief executive of Schneider Electric, said the companies would explore solutions that “can accelerate decarbonisation while enhancing operational performance across healthcare ecosystems.”
The UAE Climate Change Law has required all entities to measure, report and reduce their emissions since May 2025. The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has set the emirate’s healthcare sector a target of cutting carbon emissions by 20% by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.
