Sharjah National Oil Completes First Phase of Hadiba Gas Field, Set to More Than Double Its Gas Output

Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has completed the first phase of its Hadiba gas and condensate field development, a step that will raise its current gas production to more than double its previous level, the state oil company said on Tuesday.

The Hadiba field was discovered in May 2024, northeast of the Sajaa gas field. SNOC achieved first gas from the field less than a year after the discovery, according to a statement carried by Sharjah24.

The first phase covered the drilling of appraisal wells, analysis of well data, construction of gas gathering infrastructure, pipeline laying and commissioning work.

SNOC has begun preparing the next phase of development and is speeding up work to raise output during 2027. The field is expected to reach stable production rates by 2028, the company said.

SNOC said it completed the project despite logistical and supply challenges, including regional shipping disruption and constraints on the supply of materials. It did not give production volumes.

“Completing the first phase at this record speed and reaching the production stage confirms the corporation’s ability to move efficiently from discovery to execution,” said Khamis Al Mazrouei, executive director of SNOC.

Masoud Al Hammadi, SNOC’s executive director of exploration and production, said appraisal results had confirmed the quality of the reservoir, with pressure and production performance supporting its long-term commercial viability.

Last week, SNOC signed an agreement with Norway’s Equinor to explore liquefied petroleum gas and downstream ventures in the UAE.
