Manama, Apr. 7 (BNA) – The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announced that its latest monthly issuance of Sukuk Al Salam Islamic securities was oversubscribed by 125%, signaling strong investor demand.
The total subscriptions reached BD 53.923 million, significantly higher than the BD 43 million available in the issue. This short-term Islamic financial instrument carries a maturity period of 91 days, starting from April 9 and ending on July 9, 2025.
The expected return for this issuance is 5.27%, an increase from the 5.20% return on the previous issue dated March 12.
The Sukuk Al Salam securities are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of Bahrain and are part of a regular series aimed at providing short-term funding in compliance with Islamic finance principles. This specific issuance is No. 288 in the series and is identified as (BH000134M945).
The oversubscription reflects strong market confidence in Bahrain’s Islamic financial instruments and continued investor interest in Sharia-compliant investment options.
