Bahrain GDP Growth Leads GCC with Strong Non-Oil Sector Boost in Q4 2024

Bahrain GDP growth leads GCC nations after an impressive economic performance in the fourth quarter of 2024. The Kingdom recorded a 7% real GDP increase compared to the previous quarter. This marks the highest growth rate among GCC countries, reflecting successful government policies and robust private sector activity.

Year-on-year, Bahrain’s economy expanded by 3.4% compared to Q4 2023. In nominal terms, GDP rose by 7.1% compared to Q3 in 2024. These results show Bahrain’s resilience as well as steady economic development.

Bahrain maintains its reputation as the most diversified economy in the GCC. Oil contributes only 14.3% of its GDP, while a large 85.7% comes from non-oil sectors. This diversification has helped Bahrain reduce risks linked to oil price fluctuations and support continuous growth.

Meanwhile, the total GDP of the GCC reached $587.8 billion in Q4 2024, slightly up from $579 billion in the same quarter last year. However, the region’s year-on-year growth slowed to 0.8%, making Bahrain’s performance stand out clearly.

Non-oil sectors contributed 77.9% to the overall GCC GDP. Manufacturing made up 12.5%, wholesale and retail trade 9.9%, and construction 8.3%. Finance and insurance accounted for 7%, while government services represented 7.5%. Real estate and other sectors filled out the remaining economic activity.

Bahrain’s leadership in economic growth clearly reflects its strategic investments and policies focused on broad diversification. Experts say Bahrain’s approach sets a strong example in quickly adapting to global economic challenges while sustaining long-term growth.

The Kingdom continues to attract foreign investments and develop emerging industries, further boosting its economy. Government initiatives that encourage innovation and entrepreneurship as well have played vital roles in this success.

Bahrain GDP growth leads the GCC thanks to effective reforms and a strong non-oil economy. This diversified approach positions Bahrain well for sustainable future development and economic stability.
