Planners are also focusing on the district of Al-Madaen. Two major links will connect Ali Al-Wardi and Al-Fursan communities in Nahrawan with the nearby Al-Zawraa area. Another important scheme links the Kut tourist highway with the old Baqubah road inside Baghdad. Hussein said crews are building service routes and converting three bridges along Highway One in Abu Ghraib district. They will soon add pedestrian bridges to improve safety and reduce conflicts with vehicles.
Moreover, all projects include widening lanes and adding new routes. Authorities plan to replace ground-level U-turns with flyovers, ensuring smoother traffic without surface intersections. Officials stress that entry points into Baghdad currently face no traffic jams thanks to ongoing upgrades.
