Burgan Bank has launched a specialized digital training program to support Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) in advancing its digital transformation. The initiative aims to empower Kuwaiti talents while strengthening technological and innovation capabilities. This step directly supports the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035.
During the three-month program, Burgan Bank’s experts will mentor MoI employees through 29 practical, hands-on sessions. Participants will develop essential digital training skills that improve operational efficiency and service delivery. Additionally, the program focuses on software development, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and global best practices for secure application design.
Brigadier General Anwar Ahmed Al-Yatama, Head of Human Resources and IT at the MoI, said the program represents Kuwait’s commitment to creating a modern, digitally advanced government. He explained that equipping national talents with digital competencies will transform the Ministry into a leading institution aligned with international standards.
He added that digitizing government services ensures faster, safer, and more efficient service for citizens and residents. With support from Burgan Bank, staff will gain the mindset, skills, and knowledge to lead the Ministry’s digital journey. Furthermore, the collaboration strengthens institutional capacity for innovation.
Bashar Al-Qattan, Executive Manager of Learning and Development at Burgan Bank, emphasized public-private partnerships. He noted that sharing expertise with the Ministry reflects the bank’s commitment to talent development and Kuwait’s economic vision. Moreover, the program reinforces the country’s position as a regional business hub.
Barrak Al-Mattar, General Manager of IT at Burgan Bank, explained that the bank invests in the latest technologies and trains staff to use them effectively. By sharing insights with the Ministry, Burgan Bank ensures digital initiatives meet Kuwait’s needs while supporting sustainable growth.
The program builds on previous initiatives, including the Data Champion internal bootcamp. That program upskilled employees in data analytics, helping them extract insights, make informed decisions, and drive customer-focused innovation.
Officials added that the MoI program guarantees engagement for all participants. It also prepares them to become champions of digital transformation within their teams. Therefore, the initiative demonstrates Burgan Bank’s strategy to extend expertise beyond the financial sector and support nationwide digital development.
