Qatar will host MWC Doha in November, a major event positioning Doha as a global center for digital innovation. Consequently, leaders, innovators, and policymakers will explore new technologies and their economic impact.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai announced the forum at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. He emphasized that the event supports Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030 and National Vision 2030. Moreover, it provides a platform for international collaboration.
The forum encourages dialogue, networking, and cooperation among global experts. Additionally, it strengthens Doha’s role as a hub for investment and strategic partnerships in technology.
Organizers expect participants from over 60 countries, while more than 200 speakers will present on artificial intelligence, 5G, cloud computing, and cybersecurity solutions.
Nearly 200 exhibitors will showcase the latest technology innovations. Companies include Microsoft, Cisco, Google Cloud, Huawei, Dell, and Nokia, alongside leading regional firms. Furthermore, this will highlight Qatar’s growing ICT ecosystem.
H E Reem Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs, highlighted that hosting MWC Doha demonstrates international confidence in Qatar’s ICT sector. She also emphasized opportunities for knowledge exchange, research, and innovation partnerships.
The ICT sector’s growth is strong. Revenues exceeded QR11.4bn in 2024. Additionally, investments in data centers are projected to reach $259m by 2029, while cloud computing could hit $303m by 2026.
MWC Doha features five main stages, 11 summits, and four keynotes covering AI, 5G, digital economies, smart cities, and technology-driven entrepreneurship.
Several Memoranda of Understanding were signed, including with Qatar University, Vodafone, Ooredoo, Media City, and the Communications Regulatory Authority. As a result, these agreements promote innovation, research, and practical ICT solutions.
GSMA Director General Vivek Badrinath praised Doha’s vision, investment capacity, and policies. He noted that the region is one of the most dynamic digital markets worldwide.
The Qatar Pavilion will showcase national digital projects, including smart solutions and infrastructure. Moreover, it provides a platform for collaboration, attracting investors, and sharing expertise.
The forum highlights public-private partnerships to develop digital economies, further supporting global investment and innovative solutions.
Ultimately, MWC Doha confirms Qatar’s ambition to lead in digital transformation. Additionally, the event promotes sustainable growth, global partnerships, and regional ICT leadership.
