Kuwait Airways Arab Open University Partnership Boosts Aviation Training and Higher Education in Kuwait

Kuwait Airways and the Arab Open University in Kuwait have signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen strategic and bilateral relations. Kuwait Airways Chairman, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan, and Dr Salah Saleh Al-Hammadi, Director of the Arab Open University, along with officials from both sides, attended the ceremony.

The protocol aims to improve operational efficiency, expand service offerings, and promote technical expertise exchange. Moreover, it facilitates collaboration in public relations, corporate communications, media, academic programs, and technology. Consequently, this partnership will serve the mutual interests of both institutions.

Captain Al-Fagaan said, “Kuwait Airways is pleased to partner with the Arab Open University, one of the region’s leading educational institutions. This initiative strengthens ties, enhances communication, and contributes to developing the work environment and the national educational system.”

In addition, the cooperation includes sponsoring major university events and implementing training and volunteer programs. Al-Fagaan highlighted that these initiatives will provide practical experience for students while enhancing Kuwait Airways’ community presence. Furthermore, the agreement offers permanent event participation and sponsorship opportunities, which increase the brand’s visibility among students and academics.

The partnership will also provide specialized training programs for Kuwait Airways employees. These programs cover management, leadership, information technology, digital transformation, languages, communication skills, professional certifications, social responsibility, and research in aviation management. Additionally, both parties will collaborate on sustainability projects, including carbon reduction and green tourism promotion.

Al-Fagaan praised Dr Al-Hammadi and the university team for supporting youth development. He emphasized that Kuwait Airways is committed to nurturing national talent, which contributes to the country’s progress and prosperity. Therefore, the protocol strengthens cooperation between the airline and educational institutions, and it reinforces Kuwait Airways’ dedication to long-term partnerships.

Dr Al-Hammadi said, “This agreement represents a strategic step in connecting higher education with the national aviation sector. Moreover, it supports professional development and empowers students with training aligned to labor market needs.” He added that the partnership will foster expertise exchange and practical experience opportunities within Kuwait Airways.

For her part, Dr Afnan Al-Khaldi, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research, welcomed the protocol. She noted that it aligns with the university’s strategy to build partnerships with public and private institutions. As a result, the agreement will enhance students’ skills, prepare them for the job market, and reinforce the university’s role in nurturing national talent to support Kuwait Vision 2035.
