Kuwait City, Kuwait – Kuwait and Vietnam relations strengthened as Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met Kuwaiti leaders to expand bilateral ties. Leaders focused on strategic partnerships, cooperation, and regional developments.
The Amir of Kuwait welcomed PM Chinh at Bayan Palace alongside Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. They reviewed ongoing relations and identified ways to expand mutual cooperation.
Officials highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Kuwait and Vietnam. They exchanged views on regional and international issues affecting both nations.
The Crown Prince met PM Chinh and his delegation. National anthems of Kuwait and Vietnam played during the ceremony, reflecting mutual respect and diplomatic protocol.
During official talks, the premiers explored opportunities to expand cooperation across multiple sectors. Both sides outlined new areas for collaboration to serve the interests of their countries and citizens.
The leaders signed a revised protocol on visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and official passports. They also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Kuwaiti Diplomatic Institute and Vietnam’s Diplomatic Academy.
To further foster goodwill, the Prime Minister hosted a luncheon for PM Chinh and his delegation. The event strengthened diplomatic relations and allowed for informal discussions.
Security cooperation remained a key topic as Acting Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry Maj Gen Ali Al-Adwani met Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Sr Lt Gen Pham The Tung. They explored ways to enhance collaboration in security and law enforcement.
The officials planned measures to combat cross-border crime, exchange expertise, share information, and ensure citizen safety. They reviewed draft agreements to reinforce institutional partnerships in crime prevention.
Both parties committed to ongoing collaboration in law enforcement and community protection. The Vietnamese delegation appreciated Kuwait’s hospitality and emphasized interest in future initiatives.
Analysts note that Kuwait Vietnam relations continue to grow steadily, reflecting shared economic, diplomatic, and security interests. Stronger ties also strengthen stability in the Gulf and Southeast Asia regions.
