Oman’s Visa Policy has been updated to allow Filipino travelers to enter the country without a visa starting early 2026. This change aims to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral ties between Oman and the Philippines.
Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Nasser bin Said bin Abdullah Al Manouri, announced the new rules during Oman’s National Day celebrations in Makati. He said Filipino visitors can now stay for up to two weeks without obtaining a prior visa.
This decision makes Oman the first country in the Middle East to offer visa-free access specifically for Filipino tourists. Authorities expect the relaxed rules will attract more Filipino visitors to the Sultanate.
The ambassador added that the policy could lead to increased flight connectivity between the two countries. Oman Air and other airlines plan to explore additional routes, including a potential direct flight from Muscat to Cebu.
Experts believe the move supports Oman’s strategy to expand tourism and diversify its economy. The tourism sector now drives growth, and easier access for visitors can stimulate hotels, transport, and retail businesses.
Furthermore, the policy strengthens diplomatic and cultural relations between Oman and the Philippines. Officials anticipate that more travel will foster business opportunities, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.
Oman’s Ministry of Tourism plans to promote the visa-free scheme widely, particularly in Manila and other major Philippine cities. Travel agencies and airlines have committed to adjusting schedules and launching campaigns to meet growing demand.
The two-week visa exemption gives Filipino visitors time to explore Oman’s cultural landmarks, natural landscapes, and heritage sites. Authorities will streamline arrival procedures to ensure smooth processing for all travelers.
Looking ahead, officials will monitor how the Oman Visa Policy affects tourism numbers and regional connectivity. They will also consider expanding direct flights and partnerships with Philippine carriers to increase travel.
Overall, the updated Oman Visa Policy marks a milestone in regional travel liberalization. The Sultanate demonstrates its commitment to welcoming international visitors while promoting economic growth and cultural engagement.
