Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has launched the KPC Excellence Award to promote innovation, teamwork, and high performance across the oil sector. Accordingly, officials emphasized that the initiative reflects KPC’s commitment to excellence.
Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, CEO of KPC, unveiled the award at a ceremony attended by Oil Minister and KPC Chairman Tareq Al-Roumi. In addition, the event recognized teams that contributed to strategic projects during 2024/2025.
Over 60 teams participated, demonstrating strong competitiveness and high standards across Kuwait’s oil industry. Furthermore, officials highlighted that the shortlisted projects support KPC’s strategic objectives and foster collaboration.
Nineteen projects were nominated across seven award categories. They illustrate the diversity of initiatives that encourage innovation, efficiency, and teamwork within the corporation.
Sheikh Nawaf stressed that the ceremony emphasized dedication, collaboration, and continuous achievements at all levels. He also praised CEOs and managing directors for supporting staff and promoting a culture of excellence.
Hisham Al-Rifai, KPC Managing Director of Human Resources and Comprehensive Services, added that the KPC Excellence Award strengthens talent development. Moreover, he said it motivates employees and reinforces corporate values of innovation, teamwork, and excellence.
This award is the first in Kuwait’s oil sector to focus on teams rather than individuals. Therefore, authorities explained, it encourages interdepartmental cooperation, healthy competition, and peak performance while benefiting the national economy.
Award categories include Best Initiative in Exploration and Production, Refining and Marketing, People Management and Positive Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, and Environment, Society, and Governance. In addition, Best Effectiveness and Best Young Employee recognize notable individual contributions.
Officials said the KPC Excellence Award will enhance innovation, boost productivity, and strengthen Kuwait’s oil sector as a key economic driver. Consequently, it also supports KPC’s goal to maintain leadership in regional energy markets.
Through this initiative, KPC aims to build a culture of excellence and inspire teams to achieve higher standards. Likewise, experts noted it will improve sector competitiveness and resilience.
Looking ahead, the KPC Excellence Award now stands as a flagship program to advance teamwork, innovation, and leadership across Kuwait’s oil industry while supporting national development goals.
