Zain Bahrain ISO certification demonstrates the company’s leadership in telecom compliance and governance. The achievement positions Zain as the first operator in the Kingdom to meet ISO 37301:2021 standards. This milestone underscores its dedication to integrity and regulatory adherence across all operations. As a result, the company strengthens its market reputation and investor confidence. Moreover, the certification reflects Zain’s focus on sustainable business growth.
ISO 37301:2021 provides a comprehensive framework for building effective Compliance Management Systems. It helps organizations establish, implement, evaluate, and improve regulatory compliance. The standard ensures Zain Bahrain integrates compliance into corporate governance, operational processes, and ethical practices. Consequently, the company can identify and address potential non-compliances efficiently. This approach reduces risks and reinforces organizational credibility.
Nadia Aqeel, Chief Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Officer, emphasized that achieving ISO 37301 supports Zain Bahrain’s strategic growth plans. She noted the certification drives value creation, strengthens investor confidence, and reflects global best practices. Furthermore, the Compliance Management System aligns the company’s objectives with international standards. This ensures that top management’s vision translates into the day-to-day conduct of employees and managers.
Zain Group’s Regulatory Compliance Program (RCP), launched in 2022, has been instrumental in achieving certification. The program provides standardized tools, including documentation databases, role clarity, automated reminders, dashboards, and digitized workflows. Initially implemented in Bahrain and Kuwait, it has now expanded to Iraq, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, South Sudan, and ZainTECH. The RCP ensures consistent regulatory compliance across all operations.
Overall, the certification reflects a commitment to governance, compliance excellence, and operational efficiency. It enables the company to maintain adherence to telecommunications regulatory authorities while pursuing sustainable growth. This achievement sets a benchmark for other telecom operators in the region.
