Al Bustan Project Set to Transform Muscat Tourism

Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group) launched a major Al Bustan project today, marking a significant milestone in Muscat’s tourism growth. The initiative involves a total investment of 150 million OMR, and it is expected to generate long-term economic benefits.

The 138,000-square-meter development aims to complete within four years. Consequently, it will provide world-class facilities while supporting Oman Vision 2040 goals. The agreement took place in Muscat, where Minister Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi and Omran Group CEO Eng. Ayad Ali Al Balushi signed the contract.

The Minister highlighted that the project occupies a prime location in Muscat Governorate. Moreover, he said it strengthens tourism infrastructure and fits well with Muscat’s mountainous geography. In addition, the complex will feature a marina designed to attract yacht tourism, further enhancing the region’s appeal.

The Al Bustan project will feature a 200-room luxury hotel, 91 branded residential units, a marina, a yacht club, restaurants, retail outlets, and advanced service facilities. Furthermore, Four Seasons will operate the property, ensuring global standards in hospitality and service quality.

Officials emphasized that the project will boost the in-country value (ICV) and generate employment opportunities for Omani citizens. At the same time, the Ministry and Omran Group plan to manage the facilities actively to deliver a fully functional destination for visitors and residents alike.

Additionally, the project aims to enhance Muscat’s appeal to both international tourists and local visitors. By integrating leisure, residential, and marine facilities, the complex sets a benchmark for future developments in Oman.

The launch demonstrates Oman’s commitment to expanding high-quality tourism infrastructure. As a result, stakeholders expect the Al Bustan project to attract foreign investment and strengthen Muscat’s position as a leading destination in the region.

Local businesses also stand to benefit. For example, construction and operations will create opportunities for suppliers, service providers, and hospitality workers. Consequently, this ripple effect is likely to boost the regional economy and support small and medium-sized enterprises.

The project could inspire similar integrated developments across Oman. Therefore, officials hope it will serve as a model for combining luxury tourism, cultural preservation, and sustainable growth in future ventures.
