Bahrain and Oman are deepening ties through enhanced border management. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Interior Minister, praised the strong fraternal relations between the two nations. He highlighted ongoing Bahrain-Omani cooperation in sharing expertise and exchanging best training practices to serve mutual interests.
General Shaikh Rashid welcomed Omani Director-General of Customs Brigadier Saeed bin Khamis Al Ghaithi and Executive Director of the GCC Customs Union Authority, Dr. Suleiman bin Masoud Al Ghafri. The meeting also included Bahrain’s President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The officials met during the First International Border Management and Technology Middle East Summit.
The summit provides a platform for regional and international experts to discuss modern border security technologies and strategies. Bahrain and Oman aim to use this platform to strengthen customs operations, improve border security, and support efficient cross-border trade.
