The Bahrain delegation to the WEF will attend the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23. Consequently, this participation highlights the Kingdom’s global economic priorities.
Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Court of the Prime Minister, will lead the delegation. He represents King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Bahrain delegation WEF includes senior government officials and private sector leaders. For instance, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, is also CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company.
Moreover, other participants include Noor bint Ali Al Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, is also attending. Additionally, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat, joins the delegation.
Furthermore, Hamad Al Mahmeed, Director General of the Office of the Prime Minister, Yousef Buhejji, Undersecretary for Research and Projects, and Sarah Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, are part of the delegation. Private sector representatives, including Khalid Tagi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group, are also included.
The WEF 2026, under the theme “Spirit of Dialogue,” will host over 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries. In addition, attendees include global leaders, executives, innovators, academics, and civil society representatives.
Discussions will focus on global economic challenges amid geopolitical, social, and technological transformations. Therefore, Bahrain’s delegation will participate in high-level sessions, panels, and meetings with key decision-makers.
Officials aim to highlight the Kingdom’s strategic priorities. These include sustainable economic growth, economic diversification, talent development, and fostering innovation. Additionally, the delegation will reinforce Bahrain’s position as a competitive investment hub.
The forum provides a platform to exchange ideas, explore new growth drivers, and promote cooperation between governments, businesses, and civil society. Experts will also address workforce readiness, artificial intelligence strategies, and sustainable environment investments.
