Bahrain Ministry Recognises Commercial Sector Leaders

Bahrain commercial initiative celebrated its fourth edition with an appreciation ceremony on January 19, 2026. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce hosted the event in Manama, recognising top contributors to the program.

Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro highlighted that the initiative supported consumers by providing a wider range of offers and discounts during the Celebrate Bahrain season. Furthermore, it operated within a transparent framework, protecting consumer rights and enhancing confidence in the local market.

He added that the initiative reflects a strong public-private partnership. Consequently, it contributes to economic activity, improves the experience of consumers and visitors, and supports market stability.

Bahrain commercial initiative has become an important annual platform. It strengthens the Kingdom’s vision of a competitive, transparent economy and reinforces Bahrain’s position as a preferred economic destination during festive periods.

Launched by the Ministry through the Consumer Protection Directorate, the program exempts promotional campaign fees and extends discount periods. This approach encourages businesses to participate actively in the initiative.

This year, the Ministry issued 2,080 promotional campaign licenses. In comparison, this figure represents growth of more than 72% from 2024, showing the program’s positive impact on market dynamism.

Officials noted that these measures also help small and medium enterprises gain visibility while fostering a healthy competitive environment. Moreover, the initiative drives higher consumer engagement across Bahrain’s commercial sector.

The initiative continues to encourage innovation in promotions and commercial practices. Additionally, it supports the Kingdom’s broader economic strategy, combining market efficiency with consumer protection.

Participating companies reported significant increases in customer visits and sales during the campaign period. Retailers highlighted that extended discount periods allowed them to reach more consumers and improve brand recognition.

Consumer feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with shoppers praising the clarity of offers and variety of products. Many noted that the initiative encouraged them to explore new brands and local businesses, strengthening the connection between commerce and the community.

Looking ahead, the Ministry plans to expand the program’s scope in the upcoming years. These efforts aim to strengthen Bahrain’s commercial ecosystem, enhance investor confidence, and boost economic growth. The Ministry also intends to introduce digital tools to track promotional success and provide real-time insights for businesses.
