Bahrain’s Fael Khair initiative has successfully settled 1,631 financial cases worth over 3.6 million Bahraini dinars. This milestone coincides with Human Rights Day. It highlights the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to social justice and humanitarian support.
Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, said the results reflect Bahrain’s dedication to human rights. He added that the programme aligns with the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. These directives emphasize sustainable reforms and preserving human dignity.
He also noted that His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, provides constant support to empower citizens and protect their rights. Furthermore, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, backs initiatives such as Fael Khair, which assist individuals with unpaid loans and strengthen societal cohesion.
Moreover, the Fael Khair initiative plans to expand its outreach to more vulnerable groups across Bahrain. By coordinating with government agencies and civil society organizations, the programme aims to identify individuals at risk and provide timely financial support. This proactive approach ensures that assistance reaches those who need it most while preventing financial crises.
In addition, the Directorate is developing training and awareness programs to strengthen financial literacy among beneficiaries. These programs will teach money management, budgeting, and debt recovery strategies. Consequently, Fael Khair not only resolves immediate financial issues but also equips citizens with long-term skills for sustainable economic stability and independence.
To increase efficiency, the Directorate is implementing a full digital transformation. This includes a dedicated Fael Khair application for applicants and donors. The platform allows people to request aid safely and enables donors to contribute directly. These tools improve transparency and responsiveness.
Shaikh Khalid explained that the next phase will provide employment opportunities for beneficiaries. In addition, early-intervention mechanisms with banks will prevent defaults and support long-term financial stability for families.
The initiative has already helped 817 individuals. Donors contributed to over 200 cases, providing more than 600,000 Bahraini dinars. Shaikh Khalid praised contributors and social media content creators who raised awareness and expanded the programme’s reach.
He emphasized that Bahrain’s commitment to human rights is continuous. Fael Khair demonstrates that strategic humanitarian work strengthens social cohesion. Moreover, it promotes justice while reflecting the Kingdom’s long-standing values of solidarity and generosity.
