Bright Bites has opened in Dubai, presenting an innovative supermarket designed especially for children. The new concept blends shopping, learning, and entertainment to motivate healthy eating among young customers. Majid Al Futtaim developed the project to redefine food retail for families and communities. It focuses on empowering kids to make informed choices about meals and snacks. The launch encourages better eating habits through an engaging and supportive environment.
The initiative promotes balanced meals using its “Pick Your Five” framework. This system follows international dietary standards and guides children toward nutritious selections. Inside the supermarket, kids can explore themed stations that highlight essential food groups. The goal is to foster habits that support long-term health and well-being. It makes nutritious food exciting and accessible for every child.
A dedicated Kids Supermarket caters to children aged four to eleven. Moreover, young shoppers use a special card to unlock games and rewards while choosing foods. In addition, leaderboards motivate participants and turn healthy shopping into a playful adventure. As a result, the format allows children to act independently while parents supervise. Consequently, this model inspires confidence and curiosity around good nutrition.
The Bright Bites Academy expands the concept beyond grocery aisles. It offers workshops, cooking classes, and collaborative events for parents and educators. Teachers can access lesson plans and tools created with nutritionists and experts. Furthermore, a school curriculum extends these ideas into classrooms across the UAE. In addition, activities encourage teamwork and creativity while reinforcing practical food skills.
Majid Al Futtaim links the initiative to its “Choose Better” campaign launched in 2023. That earlier effort promoted healthier buying habits across its retail network. The new program strengthens this mission by combining fun, education, and family support. Its launch at Carrefour, Mall of the Emirates, marks a milestone in community retail. The project shows how Bright Bites can shape better nutrition for the next generation.
