DP World launched a new Dubai Iraq RoRo maritime service to strengthen regional trade and logistics connectivity. The Dubai Iraq RoRo route links Mina Rashid Port with Umm Qasr Port in Iraq within 36 hours.
The new service offers an alternative to traditional overland trucking for non-containerised cargo. Therefore, DP World aims to improve efficiency, reliability, and cargo control across regional supply chains.
The company operates the service weekly using the upgraded DP World Express vessel. Each sailing carries up to 145 accompanied trailers, while drivers travel onboard during the journey.
Moreover, DP World designed the service to meet rising demand for faster trailer movements between the UAE and Iraq. As a result, shippers gain improved predictability and reduced transit risks.
According to DP World, the Dubai Iraq RoRo route also supports onward trade flows into Jordan and Syria. Consequently, the service integrates with established inland corridors across the Levant region.
In addition, the return voyage transports Iraqi export cargo back to the UAE. This structure strengthens two-way trade and supports balanced logistics flows between both markets.
