Du, the UAE-based telecom and digital services provider, has expanded its partnership with PEACE Cable International Network Co., Limited (PEACE) by launching a new UAE–Kenya segment under the PEACE Cable System. This expansion marks a significant step in regional digital infrastructure. It directly links the UAE with Kenya and strengthens the country’s position as a global connectivity hub connecting the Middle East, Africa, and international markets.
The latest segment builds on the original agreement to land the PEACE Cable in the UAE. It introduces a crucial digital corridor between the Gulf and East Africa. Consequently, this connection improves route diversity, reduces latency, and enhances data resilience. It ensures faster and more secure transmission of digital content, cloud services, and enterprise data between the UAE and African markets.
Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du, said, “The UAE–Kenya segment represents the next chapter of our collaboration with PEACE. It strengthens our intercontinental footprint and reinforces the UAE’s role as a central hub for international data traffic. Additionally, it reflects our ongoing commitment to global connectivity and advancing AI-driven innovation, data intelligence, and digital leadership.”
The expansion directly supports du’s strategy to accelerate digital transformation. It does so through strategic infrastructure investments that boost the UAE’s knowledge-based economy. The project also positions the country as a trusted partner in international communications networks.
Xiaohua Sun, CEO at PEACE Cable, added, “The PEACE Cable was designed to connect continents. This new link brings that vision closer to reality. By connecting the UAE and Kenya directly, we expand access, improve latency, and enhance connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. This drives new opportunities for digital inclusion and economic development.”
Furthermore, the UAE–Kenya segment provides high-capacity, low-latency infrastructure needed for AI applications, cloud computing, and data-driven industries. It will support AI research initiatives, hyperscale data centers, and government-led digital transformation programs across the region. The enhanced connectivity framework fosters international partnerships while creating an inclusive and accessible digital ecosystem spanning multiple continents.
These developments position the UAE and Kenya as key players in the global digital landscape. The strengthened digital bridge enables better communication, collaboration, and economic opportunities across Africa, the Middle East, and international markets. Consequently, it lays the foundation for sustained technological advancement and long-term cross-regional partnerships.
