Egypt and Iraq Bilateral Cooperation remains a top priority, as Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly welcomed Iraq’s Ambassador Qahtan Taha Khalaf Al-Janabi in Cairo for key diplomatic talks this week.
Additionally, both leaders reviewed ongoing partnerships. They explored sectors like education, construction, and energy, reinforcing the commitment to deepen economic and political coordination between Egypt and Iraq.
Madbouly praised the robust ties, citing leadership from both nations. Furthermore, he underlined the political will driving joint efforts across multiple development projects and bilateral initiatives.
Meanwhile, Al-Janabi confirmed Iraq’s strong interest in collaboration. Moreover, he emphasized building on existing frameworks to strengthen cooperation and launch new opportunities in trade and education.
During discussions, both sides highlighted the Egyptian and Iraqi Higher Joint Committee. In addition, they stressed its vital role in private sector engagement and fostering economic expansion.
The ambassador also noted Egypt’s business role in Iraq. Specifically, he referenced contracts awarded to Egyptian companies, supporting infrastructure and post-conflict reconstruction efforts across Iraqi provinces.
Expanding the conversation, Al-Janabi spotlighted medical tourism. Also, he mentioned simplifying university admissions for Iraqis in Egypt, which could boost educational and cultural exchange programs.

The prime minister also stressed Egypt’s desire to support Iraq’s people. Simultaneously, he voiced President El Sisi’s dedication to expanding Egypt’s role in joint regional stability.
