India welcomed Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed on April 8 for his first official visit to the country. This two-day trip reflects the strong India-UAE ties that continue to grow in every area.
Sheikh Hamdan arrived in New Delhi and received a warm welcome from Indian Minister Suresh Gopi. His visit came at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the visit, both countries plan to deepen India-UAE ties through high-level meetings and economic discussions.
On the first day, Sheikh Hamdan will meet Prime Minister Modi for a working lunch. Later, he will hold talks with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. These meetings will focus on expanding India-UAE ties in areas like trade, defense, and diplomacy.
India and the UAE have built a strong partnership in recent years. In early 2024, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed visited India to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. He received a grand welcome and met with Indian leaders to support joint projects.
Sheikh Hamdan will continue his trip on April 9 by visiting Mumbai. There, he will join a business roundtable with top business leaders from both nations. This event will explore investment opportunities and promote cooperation between Indian and Emirati firms. India-UAE ties remain a major focus throughout the visit.
Dubai plays a key role in connecting India with the UAE. Nearly 4 million Indians live and work in the UAE. These people-to-people ties support business, culture, and trade. Frequent visits by leaders from both countries show the strength of India-UAE ties.
Last year, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled also visited India and met with PM Modi. His trip helped expand cooperation in several sectors. Sheikh Hamdan’s visit continues this strong momentum.
India aims to grow its ties with the UAE through mutual respect and shared goals.
