Leadership Development Seminar Backs Oman Vision 2040

Leadership development took center stage at a seminar hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in Muscat. Significantly, the event underscored the importance of training leaders and managers to enhance national talent and support Oman’s Vision 2040.

Held at Muscat Hotel, the seminar brought together ministers, senior officials, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. Moreover, Sayyid Luay bin Ghalib bin Khalid Al Said attended as patron, alongside OCCI Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas. Delegates also included members of the State Council, experts, and executives from Oman and abroad.

During his remarks, Sheikh Faisal emphasized that leadership development drives innovation and empowers businesses to thrive in today’s competitive economy. Furthermore, he explained that modern leadership extends beyond resource management, requiring creativity, adaptability, and a clear commitment to sustainable growth.

In addition, he highlighted that the seminar’s papers, panels, and dialogues revealed how investing in human capital strengthens business sustainability. Importantly, he noted that such initiatives balance economic expansion with social stability while supporting women’s participation in national progress.

Likewise, Areej bint Mohsin Al Zaabiyah, OCCI board member and Chairwoman of its Business Women’s Committee, emphasized the role of leadership development in equipping entrepreneurs with modern skills. She added that these tools allow executives to address challenges, inspire innovation, and enhance the competitiveness of Oman’s economy.

Meanwhile, Swati Mandela, Chairperson of the Mandela Institute for Humanity, delivered a paper on inspirational leadership and crisis management. She also reflected on her family’s history, stressing that resilience and vision remain crucial for effective leadership during turbulent times.

Additionally, Aisha Alfardan, Vice Chairwoman of the Qatar Businesswomen Association, focused on personal empowerment and self-leadership. She encouraged participants to build inner strength and make deliberate choices to achieve professional and social transformation.

Subsequently, a lively panel explored how inspirational leadership shapes workplace culture and stimulates innovation. Speakers discussed strategies to guide teams in demanding environments and foster employee engagement across diverse industries.

Furthermore, an interactive dialogue addressed opportunities and challenges within today’s fast-changing economic landscape. Presenters urged business owners to adopt flexible strategies, embrace innovation, and maintain growth while ensuring long-term stability.

Alongside the seminar, an exhibition showcased SME products, services, and innovative projects. Consequently, the display enabled entrepreneurs to share expertise, establish partnerships, and advance creativity through collaboration.

Ultimately, the seminar reaffirmed that leadership development remains central to Oman’s economic transformation. By fostering dialogue, training, and resilience, the initiative aligned with national objectives to empower talent and secure lasting prosperity.
