Mubadala Bio’s IDS to Sell and Distribute More Than 20 GSK Medicines in the UAE Under New Partnership

Mubadala Bio’s IDS will manage the sales, marketing, distribution and promotion of GSK’s general medicines portfolio in the United Arab Emirates, covering more than 20 medicines, under a partnership the two companies announced on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit by Khalid Alkaf, general manager of pharma logistics at Mubadala Bio, and Boyd Chongphaisal, vice president and general manager of GSK Gulf, according to a statement from Mubadala Bio.

Hamad Almarzooqi, group deputy chief executive of Mubadala Bio, and Mohamed El Dababy, GSK’s president for its International Central Region, witnessed the signing.

The companies did not disclose financial terms or name the medicines included in the portfolio.

GSK reports its general medicines business, which includes established prescription and primary care products, separately from its specialty medicines and vaccines.

The companies said the alliance supports the UAE’s aim of strengthening healthcare resilience and building a local life sciences industry.

Mubadala Bio, which is wholly owned by Abu Dhabi state investor Mubadala Investment Company, operates two divisions, integrated biopharma and pharma logistics. IDS sits in the pharma logistics business.

The partnership follows Mubadala Bio’s agreement with Eli Lilly, announced on Tuesday, to package Mounjaro and other GLP-1 medicines in Abu Dhabi.
