Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, arrived in Dubai to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS). He left Abuja on Sunday. He landed in the United Arab Emirates early Monday at 4 a.m.
Upon the arrival of Nyesom, the Consul General of Nigeria in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, welcomed Wike. Officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) also greeted him. These officials included the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu, Director of Development and Control, Mukhtar Galadima, Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Chuks Udeh, and Director of Protocol Sani Musa Daura.
Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, confirmed his participation in a statement on Monday. Furthermore, during the summit, Wike will meet with global city leaders and industry experts. He will share insights and discuss urban development strategies.
On Tuesday morning, Wike will lead a discussion panel. He will answer questions about the FCT’s urban development. He will also share strategies with other capital city mayors. Moreover, he will network to build international partnerships and exchange knowledge.
The Brisbane City Council in Australia organizes the 2025APCS. Consequently, the summit gathers mayors, city leaders, business executives, and young professionals from Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
