Oman and Bahrain have signed 25 important agreements to strengthen their bilateral relationship. These agreements cover various sectors and were signed during the state visit of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Oman. The visit was led by Sultan Haitham bin Tarek of Oman and King Hamad, who arrived in Muscat on a two-day trip.
These agreements span several areas, such as culture, science, health, finance, and food security. One of the main deals was an MoU on foreign affairs, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs. This agreement focuses on improving diplomatic ties and contributing to stability in the region.
Another key deal was about public administration. This agreement aims to improve governance and coordination on international matters. Both countries also signed an agreement to fight human trafficking. The deal was made between Oman’s National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority. This shows both nations’ commitment to addressing global challenges together.
On the economic front, Oman and Bahrain signed a double taxation agreement. This agreement is expected to encourage economic cooperation and make tax matters easier between the two countries. Another important deal focused on meteorology. It sets the stage for both nations to work together in the field of weather science and forecasting.
Other agreements covered areas such as health cooperation, scientific initiatives, and media partnerships. Both countries agreed to collaborate in sectors like food security, agriculture, and intellectual property protection. There was also an emphasis on boosting national content development and industrial empowerment, especially in mining.
Finally, executive programs were signed to improve cooperation in municipal work, museums, and renewable energy. These programs aim to support sustainable development and innovation in the region.
