Oman has approved development tenders worth $86 million to support key projects across multiple sectors in the Sultanate. The Tender Board, led by Dr Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board, held its first meeting of 2026 to review and endorse several important projects.
The Board approved the construction of two flood protection dams in Wadi Al Ansab, Muscat Governorate, valued at RO9,750,000. It also approved the purchase of peritoneal dialysis equipment, costing RO8,390,285. These initiatives aim to strengthen both infrastructure safety and healthcare services.
The Board backed the design consultancy for Phase Three of the Integrated Sports City stadium at RO4,650,000. It allocated RO3,268,530 for rehabilitation work at the Ministry of Finance building, including air-conditioning replacement. These projects will enhance public facilities and government infrastructure.
Oman is also improving transport connectivity. The Board approved RO3,203,151 for the Salalah road tunnel project and RO700,000 for the Rakhyut-Dhalkut coastal road cutting project. Officials emphasized that these works will boost road safety and support economic activity.
The Board authorized technological and operational upgrades, including IT system improvements, procurement of broadcasting rights, employee incentive programs, and supplementary road and waste-management projects. These measures will increase efficiency and improve the quality of public services.
Officials highlighted that these development tenders reflect the government’s commitment to sustainable growth and strategic investments. By prioritizing healthcare, infrastructure, and sports facilities, Oman reinforces its long-term development goals.
Finally, the Tender Board stressed the importance of transparency and careful project management.
