Cybersecurity Center Launch Boosts Oman’s Digital Innovation

Oman has officially launched the Hadatha Center for Cybersecurity Manufacturing at Middle East College, marking a key milestone in the country’s digital economy. This center strengthens Oman’s position in cybersecurity, promotes innovation, and nurtures entrepreneurship.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology led the initiative through the National Information Security Center. It collaborated closely with Middle East College. The project is also part of the National Executive Program for Cybersecurity Manufacturing, aimed at advancing national capabilities and supporting technology-driven growth.

The Cybersecurity Center will link government agencies, private companies, and academic institutions. This collaboration will generate economic opportunities, encourage investment, and foster innovative solutions across Oman’s technology sector.

Aziza Sultan Al-Rashidia, assistant director general of cybersecurity programs, emphasized that innovation is critical in modern societies. She added that supporting Oman’s innovation ecosystem ensures national projects remain aligned with global advancements.

Al-Rashidia also noted that the Hadatha Center aims to position Oman as a regional hub for cybersecurity and digital innovation. It will develop specialized industries, cultivate national talent, and encourage practical, creative solutions.

The center will provide training programs and applied workshops under the supervision of the National Information Security Center. It will also support local startups through accelerator and incubator initiatives, helping promising companies scale their operations.

One of the center’s key activities is the “Hadatha Hackathon,” which will challenge participants to solve real-world cybersecurity problems. Additionally, the center will collaborate with Oman’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Center to integrate AI and emerging technologies into security solutions.

Through these efforts, Oman strengthens its digital infrastructure. It also supports startups and builds a skilled workforce. Moreover, the Cybersecurity Center highlights the nation’s commitment to innovation. It drives economic diversification and promotes technological independence.

In addition, Oman fosters collaboration between government, academia, and industry. This approach creates a resilient, future-ready digital ecosystem. Consequently, the initiative lays a strong foundation for long-term technological growth. It also positions Oman as a regional leader in cybersecurity and innovation.
