Oman tourism is expanding strongly as the sector records higher spending and steady economic gains. In 2025, tourism consumption in Oman increased by 11.6 percent to reach 1.18 billion Omani rials. Consequently, the industry continues to show solid recovery and rising demand.
To begin with, tourism consumption stood higher than the previous year’s 1.08 billion rials. This increase highlights stronger visitor activity across the country. In addition, the sector’s direct contribution to GDP rose by 3.7 percent to 1.14 billion rials. Therefore, tourism continues to strengthen its role in the national economy.
Oman tourism now plays a key part in economic diversification plans. Authorities continue to promote the sector under Oman Vision 2040. As a result, the country focuses on reducing reliance on hydrocarbons. At the same time, tourism attracts more investors and private sector participation.
Furthermore, the gross value added from tourism increased to 1.11 billion rials. This figure reflects a 4 percent rise compared to the previous year. In addition, total tourism output reached 2.28 billion rials by the end of 2025. Consequently, the sector shows consistent long-term expansion.
Quarterly figures show slight fluctuations in performance. In the final quarter of 2025, direct tourism GDP reached 330 million rials. This figure remained close to the previous year’s level. Even so, the overall trend still points toward steady annual growth.
At the same time, different tourism segments recorded varied results. Accommodation services led growth with a 17 percent increase. Similarly, other services rose by 18 percent, showing strong demand. In contrast, travel and booking services declined by 12.2 percent. Therefore, the sector shows both growth and adjustment across categories.
Restaurant services increased by 3.5 percent during the year. Transport services also rose slightly by 1.1 percent. As a result, multiple segments contributed to overall sector expansion.
Oman tourism also recorded growth at constant price levels. Direct tourism GDP rose by 5.7 percent in real terms. Moreover, gross value added increased by 6.5 percent. Therefore, the sector demonstrates stability even when adjusted for inflation.
Tourism output reached 2.17 billion rials at constant prices. This represents a 5.5 percent increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, total tourism consumption reached 1.18 billion rials. Consequently, Oman tourism continues to build momentum across the economy.
Oman tourism remains central to the country’s long-term development strategy. Not only does it support diversification, but it also strengthens investment appeal. Ultimately, Oman tourism continues to grow as a key driver of sustainable economic progress.
