Primark Expands Middle East Presence with Five New Stores in 2026

Primark Middle East will open five new stores in 2026 after its first launch in Kuwait last year. The expansion highlights strong demand for affordable fashion in the Gulf.

The retailer will partner with Alshaya Group to open three stores in Dubai during the first half of the year. Dubai Mall will launch in March, City Centre Mirdif in April, and Mall of the Emirates in May.

Later in 2026, Primark will enter Bahrain and Qatar, opening stores in City Centre Bahrain and Doha Festival City. These launches mark the first entry into both markets and strengthen its regional presence.

Eoin Tonge, Primark’s interim chief executive, said, “The success of our first store in Kuwait confirms the potential for Primark Middle East. We look forward to expanding with Alshaya Group, starting in Dubai.”

John Hadden, chief executive of Alshaya Group, said, “We proudly bring this highly anticipated brand to Gulf shoppers. Our openings in Dubai, Bahrain, and Qatar demonstrate strong partnership and growth potential.”

Primark’s regional expansion aligns with its global strategy to operate in 21 countries. The retailer will also open its first flagship store in Manhattan, New York, later this year.

Analysts say Primark Middle East will gain from high-traffic malls and growing demand for value fashion. Alshaya Group provides expertise in local operations, marketing, and customer engagement.

The new stores will create numerous jobs for local employees in management, retail, and logistics roles. This move supports economic growth while strengthening Primark’s workforce in the region.

Primark Middle East plans to integrate digital tools with in-store experiences. Customers will use mobile apps for promotions, online reservations, and loyalty programs, making shopping convenient and interactive.

The company aims to explore further expansion in Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait City. Primark will respond to rising consumer demand and urban retail growth across the Gulf.

Overall, Primark Middle East’s 2026 expansion strengthens its franchise network, opens new markets, and brings affordable fashion to Gulf shoppers. The stores will boost brand visibility and regional growth significantly.
