Doha, Qatar – Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) organised the 2025 Person-Centred Care Middle East Forum. The theme was “Shaping the Future of Care: Innovations in Person-Centred Care.” The two-day event highlighted how innovation, integration, and inclusivity are changing healthcare delivery across systems and communities.
The programme had three main tracks. These included person-centred digital transformation, collaborative care building partnerships for better outcomes, and care beyond boundaries with systematic personalization across networks. Each track addressed practical solutions to improve patient care and clinical outcomes. Furthermore, the sessions allowed participants to share ideas and best practices.
Minister of Public Health H E Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud attended the forum. He joined HMC Managing Director Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi. In addition, many regional and international healthcare leaders, professionals, and innovators participated. They shared experiences and discussed strategies for advancing person-centred healthcare.
The forum was held in partnership with Planetree International, a US-based organisation promoting person-centred excellence. Moreover, speakers and delegates explored how new technologies, collaborative partnerships, and co-designed care models can improve the patient experience.
HMC introduced digital tools such as the Lbaih mobile app. The app lets patients access and manage healthcare information from their mobile devices. In addition, Qatar’s first AI Center of Excellence supports the development of SMART hospital frameworks. These frameworks help hospitals operate efficiently while maintaining high-quality care.
HMC empowers people through the person-centred care ambassadors programme. Volunteers from different backgrounds help improve patient and family experiences through compassionate service. Meanwhile, the Patient and Family Advisory Council lets patients, families, and caregivers work directly with HMC teams to shape programs and services. As a result, healthcare delivery better reflects patients’ real needs.
Delegates discussed how person-centred care can combine innovation, sustainability, and patient engagement across hospitals and health networks. They emphasized partnerships between hospitals, technology providers, and policymakers to achieve better outcomes.
The 2025 PCC Middle East Forum confirmed HMC’s role as a regional leader in person-centred healthcare. By using digital tools, innovation, and patient collaboration, HMC continues its mission to provide compassionate, high-quality, and forward-looking care. Overall, the event showed the importance of placing patients and families at the heart of healthcare transformation in Qatar and the wider Middle East.
