Bilateral ties between Qatar and Hungary were highlighted during a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening trade and investment links. The session was co-chaired by Mohamed bin Mahdi Al Ahbabi and Viktor Dombi. Eng. Ali Al Misnad also attended. The gathering showcased growing business potential between Qatari and Hungarian companies.
To begin with, the discussions focused on sectors like construction, building materials, interior design, 3D architecture, smart furniture, digital architecture, and artificial intelligence. Mohamed Al Ahbabi noted Qatar and Hungary maintain strong economic and commercial relations. Trade between the two nations reached around QR 375 million in 2024. Hungarian companies operate in various sectors across Qatar.
Additionally, the meeting also explored potential joint initiatives in education and research, aiming to enhance knowledge exchange between universities and innovation hubs. Both countries expressed interest in collaborative programs that nurture talent and promote technological advancements.
He stressed that private sectors in both nations could strengthen partnerships through trade and investment initiatives. Al Ahbabi highlighted opportunities in engineering, design, and construction. Qatar’s modern laws, top-tier infrastructure, and investor incentives make it an attractive business destination.
Eng. Ali Al Misnad reinforced the Qatar Chamber’s commitment to Qatari-Hungarian business collaboration. Expanding sectoral cooperation will boost investments and stimulate trade. Viktor Dombi praised Qatar as a regional leader in innovation and sustainability, commending the Qatar Chamber for fostering partnerships.
Dombi highlighted potential collaboration in agriculture, financial technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cosmetics, medical tourism, water management, and research. He confirmed Hungary’s support for these opportunities and willingness to address challenges. The discussions set the stage for stronger economic connections and a diversified partnership.
Analysts suggest that the enhanced partnership between Qatar and Hungary could attract new investments, drive innovation, and expand trade networks. Both sides agreed to identify growth sectors and maximize mutual benefits. The meeting reflects Qatar’s strategy to strengthen international economic relations while advancing Vision 2030 goals.
