The Qatar Blue Pledge campaign began with a mission to protect the marine environment in Qatar and globally. QNB Group launched this initiative to raise awareness about ocean conservation in all the countries where it operates. The work aligned with its environmental sustainability strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Moreover, the Qatar Marine Protection Initiative shows Qatar’s dedication to supporting global efforts for ocean preservation. The program works to ensure resource sustainability and address the growing threats facing marine ecosystems.
The Qatar Blue Pledge started at the Al Mathaf Tower offices. QNB Qatar employees released wish bottles carrying messages for a healthier ocean. At the same time, employees from all subsidiaries and branches joined the activities. They also shared posts on social media to urge eco-friendly practices that protect the sea from pollution.
In addition, ten employees won a draw for sea wish bottles. They enjoyed a trip to observe whale sharks in northern waters. This area is home to one of the largest gatherings of these creatures in the world. Over two weeks, the Qatar Blue Pledge guided multiple events across international branches.
In Doha, the initiative featured a workshop called ‘Paint the Blue.’ Employees decorated sustainable bags inspired by marine life. The group also held a seashell art workshop for employees’ children. These sessions combined creative expression with marine education and reinforced the Qatar Blue Pledge message.
Furthermore, QNB Egypt joined the campaign with a cleanup at Al Alamein Beach. They also shared eco-friendly tips with the public. Likewise, QNB Indonesia hosted an open workshop at Ancol Beach. Participants learned about plastic recycling and created sustainable products with a local eco-company.
Meanwhile, QNB Tunisia advanced the cause with the ‘Little Sea Guardians’ program for children. Activities included lectures on marine pollution, biodiversity, and art workshops. Participants pledged to protect oceans for future generations under the Qatar Blue Pledge vision.
Additionally, QNB Turkiye supported the mission through events in Belgrade Forest. Children crafted sculptures from natural materials and learned about forests’ role in climate regulation.
The Qatar Blue Pledge demonstrated the value of action, creativity, and education in ocean protection. It united employees, families, and communities worldwide under one shared goal.
