QatarEnergy announced the Qatar Fuel Prices for December 2025 on Sunday, November 30. The update reflects market adjustments and aims to align local costs with global trends.
Premium-grade petrol will now cost QR2 per litre, up from QR1.95 in November. Similarly, Super petrol rises to QR2.05 per litre, compared with QR2.00 last month. Meanwhile, diesel prices remain unchanged at QR2.05 per litre for the coming month.
Authorities have linked local fuel costs to global oil markets to maintain price stability and transparency. Since September 2017, QatarEnergy has announced monthly fuel prices following the Ministry of Energy and Industry’s framework. This step ensures that fuel rates reflect international market conditions.
The adjustments follow fluctuations in global crude oil prices and local consumption trends. Energy analysts highlight that linking domestic prices to international benchmarks helps mitigate the impact of sudden market swings. Consequently, motorists and businesses can plan fuel consumption more effectively.
In addition, officials emphasize that the price increases are moderate, aimed at supporting sustainable energy management while encouraging responsible fuel use. They also note that maintaining diesel rates provides stability for transportation and logistics companies.
Over the past year, Qatar has gradually adjusted its fuel policy to ensure market alignment. Authorities continue monitoring international crude rates, refining the pricing mechanism, and providing monthly updates. This approach helps balance affordability for consumers with fiscal sustainability.
Energy experts note that Premium and Super petrol price increases align with similar trends in regional Gulf markets. QatarEnergy continues coordinating with other government entities to ensure fair pricing and transparency. Furthermore, the adjustments reflect global energy demand, supply constraints, and regional geopolitical factors.
Looking ahead, QatarEnergy plans to review fuel pricing monthly, considering international oil trends, domestic consumption, and policy objectives. Authorities encourage consumers to stay informed and manage fuel usage responsibly.
The Qatar Fuel Prices announcement underscores the government’s commitment to market-driven pricing, transparency, and long-term energy sustainability while safeguarding consumers and commercial users.
