Qatar Islamic Bank Launches Salary Transfer Campaign with Up to 125,000 Rewards Points

Qatar Islamic Bank has launched a new customer rewards campaign aimed at attracting salary transfers with high-value loyalty benefits. The move strengthens competition in Qatar’s retail banking market as banks continue to push for deeper customer engagement through salary-linked services and premium cards.

The new QIB salary transfer campaign runs until June 30, 2026. It offers customers up to 125,000 Absher Rewards points when they transfer their salaries to the bank and apply for selected QIB credit cards during the campaign period.

The offer applies to new customers who transfer their salaries to QIB for the first time. It also includes existing customers who have not transferred their salaries to the bank during the past six months and now decide to do so.

Under the campaign, eligible customers can apply for selected QIB cards. These include the Visa Signature credit card, Visa Infinite credit and charge cards, and the Mastercard World credit card.

Customers who choose the Visa Infinite credit or charge card, or the Mastercard World credit card, can receive 75,000 Absher Rewards points as a sign-on bonus. In addition, they can earn another 50,000 points if they spend QR75,000 within the first three months.

As a result, the total reward for those customers can reach 125,000 Absher Rewards points. That makes the campaign one of the more generous salary transfer promotions currently available in Qatar’s consumer banking sector.

Meanwhile, customers who apply for the Visa Signature credit card can receive 50,000 Absher Rewards points as a sign-on bonus. They can also earn another 25,000 points after spending QR50,000 during the first three months. Therefore, their total reward can reach 75,000 points.

QIB also said eligible customers can access financing under attractive profit rates during the campaign. This additional offer broadens the campaign beyond rewards and positions it as a wider personal banking acquisition strategy.

D Anand, General Manager of QIB’s Personal Banking Group, said the bank remains focused on giving customers more convenience, flexibility, and meaningful value. He added that the campaign allows customers to benefit from both rewards and QIB’s wider banking services.

The campaign also highlights the growing role of loyalty ecosystems in Gulf banking. Today, banks increasingly use reward programmes to build stronger customer retention and encourage wider use of digital and card-based services.

QIB customers can earn Absher Rewards points through several banking activities. These include salary transfers, fixed deposits, card spending, mobile app registration, and international transfers made through the QIB app.

Moreover, customers can redeem points for a wide range of benefits. These include flights with more than 900 airlines, hotel bookings at over 450,000 hotels, online shopping, and digital vouchers through partner platforms.

The points also support practical everyday use. Customers can use them to pay bills with Ooredoo, Vodafone, and Kahramaa. In addition, they can convert them into other loyalty programmes such as Qatar Airways Avios, Meera Rewards, and Shukran Points.

This flexibility may help QIB strengthen its appeal among salaried professionals and premium banking customers. As competition grows across Qatar’s banking sector, institutions are increasingly combining rewards, digital convenience, and card usage incentives to attract long-term account holders.

Looking ahead, the QIB salary transfer campaign may help the bank expand its customer base while boosting card activity and deposit inflows. For consumers, it also reflects how salary banking has become more competitive and more reward-driven in Qatar.
