Qatar has introduced a new plan to strengthen its private sector from 2025 to 2030. The Qatar Chamber, led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, approved the strategy. It focuses on sustainability, digital transformation, and better services. The key goal is to make Qatar a top global business hub.
The strategy supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs. To achieve this, the chamber will create a department for feasibility and market studies. It will also launch an entrepreneurship centre in partnership with the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). A dedicated team will oversee innovation and SMEs.
One major focus is the digital economy. The chamber plans to digitise all services and use artificial intelligence (AI) for daily operations. It will also launch a Qatari e-marketing platform to connect Arab businesses with global markets. The chamber wants to improve efficiency and provide better services.
To attract local and foreign investments, the chamber will work closely with the government. It will review business laws and promote public-private partnerships (PPPs). The chamber will act as a bridge between the government and the private sector.
The strategy includes efforts to enhance the chamber’s image. It plans to employ skilled Qatari professionals and improve performance. The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) will have a new strategy. The chamber will expand its Research and Studies Department and strengthen its Exhibitions Department.
To improve data management, the chamber will collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI). It will create a directory of companies based on their activities. Both electronic and printed directories will be published. The chamber also plans to organise virtual exhibitions featuring local and global companies.
