Riyadh has launched the Human Capability Initiative, bringing together global leaders to shape the future of skills and work. Under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the event takes place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center.
The two-day conference, themed “Beyond Readiness,” focuses on building future-ready societies and resilient workforces. Additionally, it explores how education, technology, and policy can prepare people for rapid global changes. Therefore, it’s crucial to stay ahead of these shifts.
Anas Al-Mudaifer, CEO of the Human Capability Development Program, emphasized the importance of human development. He believes human skills are key to sustainable growth. As he explained, “It’s not just about responding to change but staying ahead of it.”
Over 12,000 experts, policymakers, corporate leaders, and academics from 100 countries are attending the event. Moreover, they will participate in more than 120 sessions. These discussions will focus on artificial intelligence, workforce transformation, and education equity. Thus, the event will help find solutions for a changing world.
The conference addresses three main themes. The first theme, “Harnessing the Ways We Learn,” delves into lifelong learning, upskilling, and reskilling. It focuses on ensuring people can adapt to a changing world. For instance, the World Economic Forum projects that technology will create millions of new jobs by 2030. However, many existing jobs will be displaced, highlighting the need for continuous skill development.
The second theme, “Honoring the Ways We Belong,” focuses on ethics, social cohesion, and well-being. This theme emphasizes how inclusive communities help sustain progress. In addition, the third theme, “Harmonizing the Ways We Act,” looks at partnerships between governments, businesses, and other stakeholders to create lasting change.
Throughout the event, experts will discuss various topics, such as the impact of AI on jobs and the role of research in economic development. These conversations will aim to uncover new strategies for preparing future generations for the workforce.
Al-Mudaifer noted that this year’s conference builds on the success of the first edition. He added, “We are moving from adaptation to innovation, focusing on key areas like AI and sustainability.”
The event features five dynamic platforms.
These include the “#BeyondReadiness Arena” for keynotes and discussions.
Furthermore, the HCI Dialogues will offer expert-led conversations. The Success Stage will showcase successful case studies. Moreover, the “Learn, Act, Belong Stage” and the Mastery Stage will provide interactive, hands-on learning opportunities.
The Human Capability Initiative directly supports Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to empower Saudi citizens and increase their global competitiveness. Moreover, it encourages international partnerships to drive action.
In conclusion, the event will contribute to Saudi Arabia’s broader goal of building a future-ready workforce. This workforce will be able to adapt to the evolving global economy.
