Saudi Arabia Expands Water Network with $320mln Hail Projects

Saudi Arabia is taking major steps to improve its water infrastructure. As part of Vision 2030, the National Water Company (NWC) has launched 14 new water and sanitation projects in the Hail Region. These developments, valued at more than SAR 1.2 billion ($320 million), aim to improve access to clean water and support growing communities.

To begin with, the projects include more than 1,342 kilometers of water lines and distribution networks. These pipelines will serve urban and rural areas across the Hail Region. Additionally, two pumping stations will be built to manage the flow and pressure of the water supply. Each station will process up to 4,000 cubic meters per day.

Moreover, the projects will significantly enhance sanitation services. The NWC is constructing over 153 kilometers of new sewage lines. Alongside these, pumping stations with a combined daily capacity of more than 23,000 cubic meters will support the expanded network. These systems will help prevent water pollution and improve public health.

At the same time, environmental sustainability remains a key focus. Two major environmental initiatives, valued at SAR 134 million, are part of the overall package. These projects will ensure that water and wastewater services align with modern environmental standards. They will also contribute to protecting natural resources and reducing harmful emissions.

Furthermore, these projects are designed to support long-term growth. As population numbers rise, the demand for reliable water services increases. With that in mind, Saudi water projects like these help the Kingdom meet future needs while also enhancing current infrastructure.

Earlier this week, NWC also announced a SAR 400 million desalinated water project in Riyadh. This initiative confirms Saudi Arabia’s national strategy to invest heavily in water security.

In conclusion, Saudi water projects in the Hail Region represent more than just new pipes and pumps. They reflect a broader commitment to quality of life, environmental care, and sustainable development. As the country advances its Vision 2030 plan, such investments will play a vital role in shaping a healthier and more secure future.
