First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), one of the UAE’s largest financial institutions, has chosen Thunes as its provider for global mobile wallet payouts. The integration of Thunes’ Direct Global Network allows FAB customers to send payments instantly across more than 130 countries.
This initiative provides clients with accessible, transparent, and efficient payment solutions. Moreover, it aligns with UAE national programs, including “We the UAE 2031” and the Central Bank’s Financial Infrastructure Transformation (FIT) programme, which promote digital innovation, interoperability, and financial inclusion.
Simon Nelson, Chief Commercial Officer at Thunes, said the partnership demonstrates confidence in Thunes’ global payment capabilities. He added that the collaboration will make cross-border transactions faster and simpler for customers.
Through this partnership, FAB and Thunes aim to expand access to next-generation payment channels. The collaboration positions both organizations at the forefront of cross-border financial innovation in the Middle East.
Thunes’ Direct Global Network directly connects over 7 billion mobile wallets, stablecoin wallets, and bank accounts worldwide. Additionally, it supports 15 billion cards through more than 320 payment methods, ensuring scalable and reliable global reach.
The collaboration will also help FAB deliver seamless international payments while maintaining high security standards. Customers can now complete cross-border transfers efficiently, reducing delays and enhancing transparency.
